Hi! I'm Swedish, 66 years old, retired from work, in a relationschip with a man since seven years. I have a daughter and grandchildren. I was married for more than thirty years but divorced in 2005. I have a few pen pals in Europe but I miss one in Italy which is one of my favorite countries. I love travelling and have been to Italy many times. I love the Italian language (but I don't speak it very well), Italian movies and Italian food.
Other interests are art, music, history, reading, going to museums and galleries, writing to my friends etc etc. I'm a creative person, I paint and like to decorate my doll's house, which is a very nice hobby. I would very much like to have a friend in Italy, ecpecially in Rome - a lovely place! So, I do hope you will write back!

Hi. I am interested in your thoughts re the meaning of life. I am also at a juncture where I wonder what it is all about. My three children are grown up and all live overseas. I am a widow but have a lovely partner and many friends. However there is still a gap. I do have a lovely puppy and two cats. Considering how things are in Syria etc I am very lucky but I still wonder what is the purpose. I love languages and speak Italian very well. Also learning Spanish and French which I love. I live in New Zealand and have travelled often in England and Europe. Interesting to hear other views of life in general. Love to hear about other cultures.

Isn't it great how we achieve a calmness as the years go by, tho' our curiosity never goes away.
I love to meet new people too... and like you wonder what other women's thoughts are on - well - life I guess.
Perhaps we'll get to chat some more...

Unfortunately no I haven't traveled extensively. Been to Texas, Arkansas, Mass., Conneticut, California, NC, Florida - but all just vists. I did a cruise to the Caribean...and will do another in January which I'm looking forward to. I agree I'm sure no place is perfect - but each place has a beauty all it's on to enjoy while there.:):):) Rome and Crete would be wonderful to see.

Is that your kitty? What's it's name? I have three dogs and a cat living in the house with me, then two big dogs outside and chickens. I'd have a mini farm if I could...but there just isn't enough time...

So your out dorsey - do you like doing crafts and things? Reading? If so what type of things do you do and who is your favorite author?

I'm a Canadian of Latvian heritage though born in Germany and emigrated as a 2 year old child so my first experience with Europe was through representing a French company as their agent in western Canada. I am now divorced but was married until age 50 and worked all my life. Have no children. Now being retired I too am searching for meaning - my parents have passed on and my nephews are now married and embarked on their life's journeys - Some friends have pre-deceased me and others have given up using computers. I'm not ready to stop being curious about life, nor give up seeing the beauty that surrounds us. One place I find fascinating is the "Pinterest " site where I've accumulated pictures of things that inspire me and places i would love to see. So.....here I am trying something new for me - I'd love to chat - have been to Hawaii numerous times as my uncle used to live in Maui - never been to New York but have traveled around the states - Dallas,Fort Worth, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Carmel, Carlsbad, San Diego, Irvine, Chicago, Seattle, and worked for a California company for 8 years as their Canadian Representative -
