Well that's totally understandable! I've felt that at times too, but then I dissolve that feeling by thinking - if it was me (and it will one day, it'll be us all) that'd I want someone to take care of me and improve my life. And so I think, I owe it to them that they have someone to be there for them, to pay it forward if you will.

Of course the same can be said for psychiatric patients as well, but I find that I (selfishly) enjoy the more tangible nature of physical injuries and the ability to see recovery.

It doesn't sound like you're pessimistic, maybe just a realist. But you sound really genuine and I'm sure you'll go on to change lives.

Ah I read that, well good for you then! I think it's good that you're following your goals. I too don't love biology purely enough to make it my main focus, but its course core makes it useful for medical sciences. I enjoy psychology a lot, it was really interesting. Unfortunately I've dealt a lot with people with mental issues and it's so taxing on you and I don't have to fortitude to stick it out - so good for you on being able to!
